Operational Highlights in 2008

The reason of the decrease in sales of CAT Turkey operations is the stability in construction industry, mainly based on global economic crisis.

The increase in Central Asia earth moving equipment sales is mainly related to the positive improvements in mining sector.

Business Area

• Borusan Makina handles all marketing, sales and after-sales services for Caterpillar products since 1994.
• Operates as a dealership of Caterpillar in Azerbaijan (since 1997), Georgia (1997), Kazakhstan (1999), Kyrgyzstan (2004) and besides Turkey.
• Represents the Mantsinen material handling machines, Thwaites dumpers, Atlas Copco hydraulic crushers in Turkey, Challenger agricultural machines in Kazakhstan, Metso Nordberg mobile crushing and screening plants, O&K Terex excavators which are over 100 tons and Exxon Mobil in both countries.

• Servicing the oil and gas industry through offices in Georgia and Azerbaijan in Central Asia; performing maintenance operations for WREP (Western Route Export Pipeline) since 1997 and for the Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan Pipeline project since 2006.
• Logistic and support services to branches, service points and customers in the Almaty region through the Almaty Central Office located in Kazakhstan’s major financial center.
• Spare parts warehouses and service workshops in the Karaganda, Aktau, Aktobe and Uralsk branches; spare parts warehouses and mobile servicing at Atyrau, Astana and Chimkent branches.
• Different service points such as local workshops, spare parts warehouses, service project teams, service stations and/or mobile services designed to meet regional needs in the areas of Ekibastuz, Rudny, Ormet, Tengiz, Vasgok, Ust-Komenogorsk, Kokchetau, Kızılorda, Varvarinskoe and Zhezkazgan.
• Representation Office at Bishkek.
• Branches in Ruddny, Kokchetau and Shimkent to handle sales, service and spare part logistics and designed in an effort to develop regional sales and after-sales customer support services for Challenger agricultural machines in 2008.
