Borusan Mannesmann Pipe’s entire sales organization has been completely revamped.
Over the past five years, more than 30,000 customer visits have been initiated through
the efficiency of four Segment Administrations, five Regional Offices and 35 sales
representatives. The positive effect of responding to feedback within two business
days significantly helped increase customer satisfaction.
In accordance with the Voice of Customer approach, 25 research topics and 64
different six Sigma projects were completed and their solutions implemented.
A “training department” was set up to provide for the technical support and training
demands of customers. During the past year, over 3,600 end users received four hours of training per person, 25 customer representatives received 96 hours of training and 200 dealership workers received 32 hours of sales techniques and products training.
"Craftsman Club” was formed, a first in the sector.
Approximately 800 recommendations were received from staff during the year and
as a result green house pipes, cement pump pipes, semi-trailer profiles, oil and water
well pipes, grooved pipes and many other new products were introduced for customer use.
Answering feedbacks of customers in two days, via CCM system increase customer satisfaction.
Operational Highlights in 2007
Domestic steel pipe market grew by 3% in 2007
Pipe Group grew by 5% in volume, achieving a turnover of $ 695 million in 2007
BMB’s total sales volume reached to 0.7 million tons of which 33% were through exports.

Production
More than 4,000 different pipes, ranging in outer diameters from 4.6 mm to 2,540 mm
and thicknesses of between 0.6 mm and 23 mm
At the Gemlik Plant: production of water and natural gas pipes, petroleum pipes, boiler
tubes, heavy wall tubes, and profiles for the building and industrial sectors; plus the
production of polypropylene pipes and fittings for sanitary and heating systems
Line pipes and casing, precision tubes, hollow sections, spirally welded and coated
pipes and PEX Mobile System Pipes
Pipes produced with stretch reducing mill (SRM) hot-drawn technology are especially
preferred in European markets and Borusan Mannesmann Boru is the only manufacturer
in Turkey to employ this technology.

longitudinally welded steel pipe and 200,000 tons of spiral-welded pipe
