2007 Highlights
The leader in Turkey with a market share of 17% and sales of 1,649 units.
Achieved an aggresive growth in rental and used equipment businesses. Became
the leader of the market in rental business by growing ten times its revenue. Such
a successful result was taken in the used equipment business and the revenue grew
by 50% compared to the previous year.
The general construction sector in Kazakhstan also experienced a boost in demand,
leading to a growth in CAT population in the territory.
Customer satisfaction surveys are showing that customer loyalty has grown by 7% in 2007.





Employing its slogan “our ears are tuned in to you.” Borusan Makina focused on
listening to the voices of its customers in 2007 and became the first company in the
sector to start a call center (444 1 CAT).

Through its 34 Voice of Customer representatives working across the nation, the
Company has been actively listening to its customers with a view towards meeting
their needs. Additionally, Borusan Makina held itself to the strict standard of resolving
all complaints within three business days.

As a result of applying its Voice of Customer activities consistently over the past five
years, projects which are focused on the customer have become a part of the business
culture at Borusan Makina. During this time, more than 2,500 customers have been
contacted directly, actively listened to, their concerns duly noted, and comprehensive
solutions designed and implemented.

Each year, an average of 150 suggestions coming from the Company’s employees
are followed through and implemented, with some of the employees being recognized
and rewarded for their creativity.

Domestic market has grown by 7%, reaching 9750 units.




EME growth is in line with the economic progress in construction sector.



The main driver of sales growth is the increase in mining and consruction sectors in Kazakhstan.

Bussiness Area
Borusan Makina handles all marketing, sales and after-sales services for Caterpillar
products since 1994.
Operates as a dealership of Caterpillar in Azerbaijan (since 1997), Georgia (1997), Kazakhstan (1999), and Kyrgyzstan (2004) besides Turkey.
Represents the Mantsinen material handling machines, Thwaites dumpers in Turkey,
Challenger agricultural machines and Paccar in Kazakhstan, O&K Terex excavators which
are over 100 tons and Exxon Mobil in both countries.

Services
In addition to sales and after-sales services, Borusan Makina provides rental solutions
and certified used equipments.
Offers customers efficient and cost-effective usage by renting Caterpillar machines that
range from 0-2 years in age.
Provides a unique warranty service for used equipment machines in Turkey by certified
used concept.

Provides services for the general and heavy construction, mining and industrial sectors.

Service Locations
Head office located in Istanbul.
Regional offices in Adana, Ankara, İstanbul and İzmir.
Branches in Bursa, Diyarbakır, Trabzon, and Antalya as well sales office on the European
side of ‹stanbul.
In order to increase the number of service locations, Authorized Sales and Service
Centers have been opened in these cities throughout Turkey: Eskişehir, Mersin, Konya,
Kayseri, and Gaziantep.
In Central Asia, Georgia and Azerbaijan offices are primarily concerned with
providing services to the oil and gas industry. Since 1997, the maintenance of WREP
(The Western Route Export Pipeline) and since 2006, Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan pipelines in
these countries were carried out by Borusan Makina.
The Kazakhstan headquarters is situated in the heart of the trade center in Almaty, and
provides all logistic and support services to the branches, service points and customers
in the Almaty region.
Parts and service workshops are available in Karaganda branch. Another parts warehouse is located in Atyrau Branch which also supplies mobile service for its customers.
Locally based service project teams, service stations, parts stores and workshops are
available in the following regions: Aktau, Astana, Ekibastuz, Rudny, Ormet, Tengiz, Vasgok,
Shimkent, Ust-Komenogorsk, Kokchetau, K›z›lorda, Uralsk, Varvarinskoe and Zhezkazgan.
A representation office is located in Bishkek.
Kokchetau and Shimkent branches started to provide parts and service support for Challanger agriculture equipment in 2007 as a result of regional improvement of sales and after-sale services target for agriculture customers.
